How to Make An Apple Volcano

This is most easy peasy apple volcano you’re ever going to make – and – it’s fun for all ages. Our kiddos ranged from 2 to 14 and every one of them had a blast. All puns intended.

You’ll need:

Apples – the bigger the better
Baking Soda
Vinegar
Food Coloring (Optional)
Apple Corer or Knife

We bought two boxes of baking soda and a gallon of vinegar and used all of it. The first time the kids were a little scared when the reaction took place, so they wanted to do it again and again afterwards.

STEP BY STEP: MAKING AN APPLE VOLCANO

Step One: Hollow out the center of your apple.

Step Two: Fill the hollowed out apple about half way with baking soda.

Step Three: Put a drop or two of food coloring on top of the baking soda.

Step Four: Slowly pour vinegar over the baking soda in the center of the apple.
